We've all been there before (maybe even recently). You hit send on an email that you wish you could take back as soon as it's out of your hands. Maybe you accidentally sent a message to the wrong person, or maybe you said something in anger that you now regret. Fortunately, Microsoft Outlook offers a quick and easy way to recall emails on both Mac and PC. In this blog post, I will show you how to do it!

How to Recall an Email in Microsoft Outlook on Mac

  • Open Microsoft Outlook.
  • Click on the "Message" tab.
  • Click on the "Actions" drop-down menu.
  • Click on "Recall This Message."

You will then see a pop-up window with two options: "Delete unread copies of this message" and "Delete unread copies and replace with a new message." Choose the option that best fits your needs, and then click "OK."

And that's it! You have successfully recalled an email in Microsoft Outlook on Mac.

How to Recall an Email in Microsoft Outlook on a PC

Now, let's take a look at how to do it on a PC. The process is very similar!

You're all set! You have now successfully recalled an email in Microsoft Outlook on a PC.

But Wait...

There are some caveats to keep in mind when recalling emails. First, the recipient must also use Microsoft Outlook (or Microsoft Exchange on the same server) for the recall to work. Second, the email cannot have been previously opened or read. And finally, you can only recall emails that were sent within the last two hours.

But if all of those conditions are met, recalling an email in Microsoft Outlook is a quick and easy way to take back something you wish you could have said differently. I hope this quick fix is helpful to you next time you find yourself in need of recalling an email. Microsoft Outlook makes it easy so that you can avoid those embarrassing mistakes!
